Apple raises the minimum price for an app in Europe from €0.79 to €0.89, adds new currenciesIn an effort to adapt the App Store to the constantly changing economic climate in Europe, Apple has decided to bump the price for the lowest-tier apps. Until now, users in the EU could buy apps that cost $1 in the U.S. for €0.79, but now those apps will have a price tag of €0.89.

It's not clear yet if the updated pricing structure is present in all countries in the EU, but the €0.89 price has already been spotted in Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, France, Belgium, Slovenia and some others. The sources suggest that this price increase has been done due to higher local taxes in many countries.

In addition, Apple has also introduced some new currencies to the App Store. Users from Russia, Turkey, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, UAE and South Africa will now be able to purchase app in their own currencies.
