As we've learned by now, Apple's not the only company that can sue others... others can sue it too! And by the looks of it, even some unknown companies aren't afraid to do it.
A brand new company from Texas called Dynamic Advances is suing Apple for infringing on a patent, which allegedly deals with natural voice-recognition technology that has been used in Apple's Siri. The company claims that it has exclusively licensed this technology from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, which is the owner of the patent. The lawsuit is taking place in Connecticut.
However, as Cnet mentions, Dynamic Advances has been created just last year, by a known patent troll called Erich Spangenberg. Patent troll or not, though, it'll be interesting to see how Apple's going to deal with this issue.
What's even more interesting, however, is that the judge presiding the case has recused himself. No reason for this has been officially announced, but the guy is believed to own Apple stock. He has cited the following upon removing himself from the case: "any conduct that would lead a reasonable [person] knowing all the circumstances to the conclusion that the judge's 'impartiality might reasonably be questioned' is a basis for the judge's disqualification."
