Amidst all the new coming out of Cupertino via New York City today, Microsoft is maintaining its momentum leading up to their Windows 8 event in a couple days, and the Windows Phone 8 event next Monday.Now we are granted a view of some of the background behind the concept leading up to the 3mm thick TouchCover keyboard which is available with the Surface. It turns out that this idea was floated nearly 10 years ago, but the technology was not ready to bring the concept to reality.
Microsoft kept its cards close to the vest and made sure that the TouchCover, and its 6mm thick cousin, the TypeCover, would be ready to put on a good show when the time was right. Of course all this information is flowing one-way right now, but if the initial impressions carry over to mass acceptance after the release later this week, then we expect to hear (and read) a lot of raves over these two innovative keyboard companions to the Surface tablet.
