Amazon starts shipping its new Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD in the UKAmazon's Kindle Fire 2 (that's how we call the upgraded Kindle Fire) and Kindle Fire HD 7" have been available to US customers for a while, but just now has Amazon started shipping the devices in the UK.

Customers who're keen to dive in Amazon's content ecosystem using an affordable tablet can order the Kindle Fire 2 for just £129 if they are OK with having special offers and ads, or £139 if they aren't. For that price, they are getting a 7" tablet with a so-so resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels, 8GB of storage and a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor.

On the other hand, the better-spec'd Kindle Fire HD is available for £159 or £199 for the 16 GB or 32 GB variants, respectively. This is the price with special offers, though, if you want to get rid of those, you'll have to add an addition £10 to the price you'll be paying for whichever device you want. The Kindle Fire HD steps things up with a higher-resolution 7" screen at 800 x 1280 pixels, a slightly faster GPU and a better overall design and construction.

Are you going to get a Kindle Fire, or you'll be waiting for the iPad mini? Or maybe, a Nexus 7 is on your mind?
